Sleek almond toe, single leather sole, minimal stitching — the definition of Italian sprezzatura. Heritage that sells: • Founded in Ferrara in 1912 by Severino Artioli, now in its fourth generation of family artisans. • The house is credited with inventing the modern slip-on in the 1950s — Vito Artioli created the elastic-gore slip-on to fit like a glove. • Still “handmade in Italy” using traditional bench techniques blended with modern innovation, a brand historically worn by Picasso, the Pope, and European royalty. This isn’t mass-market — Artioli has been called “a barometer for judging other artisans” after a century at the pinnacle of Italian shoemaking.
