COLLECTIBLE 1950s\' GRAY FELT TILT HAT WITH TALL CROWN AND SEQUINED DRAPING
download picture
description
This is an exceptionally beautiful millinery creation from the fabulous fifties made of beautiful taupe! The tall, cylindrical crown is surrounded by a short downturned brim. Around the crown there is a draped band of fabric in a coordinating color. This draping has some purple/pink shading. There are gold colored sequins attached to the draping. To help keep this hat in a tilted position there is an elastic band attached to the inside. A beautiful addition to add to a hat collection.
LABEL: An Original PHIL STRANN California
Phil Strann was a notable mid-century (1950s-1960s) California milliner, famous for creating glamorous, dramatic, and stylish hats that blended resort ease with high-fashion, often featuring wide brims, veils, and ribbons, and even designing for TV shows like the Colgate Comedy Hour, making his pieces collectible today.
Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, furs, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age. Mannequin not for sale.
